Tiramisu

Tiramisu til 6 personer

Det her er faktisk Brdr. Prices opskrift på Tiramusi. Den er enkel og klassisk.

Ingredienser
4 æg
100g sukker
½ stang vanilie
500g Mascarpone ost
Ca 4 dl god stærk kaffe
1 dl Amaretto (Mandellikør)
Lady fingers
kakao pulver

Rør Mascarponen grundigt i.
Inden servering drysser man et lag kakao over.

Verdens bedste Chili Con Carne

Det her er altså verdens bedste chili con carne.

Man skal bruge:

400g hakket oksekød
400g okse småkød
3 store løg
5 fed hvidløg
3 dåser flåede tomat
1 lille dåse tomat pure
2 dåser kidney bønner
2 tsk. friske Chili
2 tsk stødt spids kommen
4 tsk oregano
1 tsk salt
1 tsk brun farin
2 hele kanel stænger
½L okse boulion

Steg igennem. Tilsæt tomat og Bønner, derefter boulion. Lad simre i mindst 3 timer. Tilsæt frisk hakket chili efter smag ca ½ time inden retten serveres.

Server med nybagt groft brød

Why I think Android is a poor solution for mobile phone...

I have had my HTC legend for 6 months now, and from a general perspective I am pleased with the phone and features. It is doing everything I need it to - fast, intuitive and easy. Some things about the Android setup is really starting to go on my nerves...

Remember Windows? It is the operating system running 80% pf all computers today. Why? Many reasons I think, and since this is not about Microsoft or Windows, I'm just gonna mention the one I think is most important: It is supporting a wide range of PC manufacturers; giving the end user the opportunity to choose his PC himself. This means I can choose from a long list og manufacturers, processors and accessories - Cool! Or is it?

The same is true for phones these days. Android is supporting thousands of different phones, giving me the chance to decide what I want. Screen size, bluetooth, keyboard and so on. The drawback with this model, is that the manufacturer of phones does not care about what they have in the market, but are constantly trying to match or overdo what their compeditors are doing. We now have a 1.2GHz processor compared to 1.1GHz at our compeditors. So our product is best. In the end i am guessing 80-90% of the user experience is based on the OS - and not the phone hardware.

Why am I writing this? Well, because I am really pissed about HTC not launching Android 2.2 (Froyo) for HTC legend (my phone model). I don't care about hardware. Well the phone is nice, but I'd rather have the 2.2 update and go with a plastic case (the legend has a very nice aluminium case) but that doesn't get rid of my exchange sync problem. Back to my point 80-90% of the user experience is in the software and not the hardware.

This is why I think Apple is successful! They have seen a need to put out a new phone with 2-3 years apart, and still support software for older models. iOS4 is for both iphone3 and 4. What a nice strategy.

I feel like the manufacturers are fighting for customers to buy their new smartphone - but as soon as we do, we are put back in the cold and are not important to the company anymore. Why is this? It is ilogical (is that a word?) to me...

So Android is a lot like windows. An ok software for a very wide range of phones. I think we will see good sales number for Android phones, but users that are half satesfied and basically don't care. I am sad bacuse Android has such a great potential - and it is beeing wasted with greedy phone companies who have no idea what their customers want. - This is quite a statement I know, but look at it. Apple just released the most impressing sales numbers ever seen by an IT company, and they have a totally different strategy. I'm not saying it's neccesarry better, because I have no other apple product than an old iPod, but it looks that way...

Here are a few article links to underline my point...

Changing the Backlight on my Korg Triton Extreme

It has happend a few times when powering up the Triton Extreme (TEX), there was no backlight. After a minute or so, the backlight was back on. But when finally turning it on this morning, after standing in my basement for a couple of months without beeing used, it is now permanent Sad

I know a repleacement of the display may be the sulution, but that would be expensive (225 USD) and since the display is working fine, I decided to consult the good old Korg forum. There where quite a few incidents like mine, and also some suggestions including:
- Changing a fuse on the power board for the Display
- Changing the entire display
- Changing the light pulp (CCFL tube)
Here are some links to the forum as reference: LINK LINK LINK
I decided however, to open my unit and investegate where my problem was. It turned out that the power board delivered the power for the backlight, so no fuse problem. Also changing the display is too costly. The only thing left was to go for changing the light pulp. The Italian poster MaxExtreme was very informative in supplying information about what type of cold cathode tube to use (details later) so I went to my local RS components and got one for around $20.
Bellow is how I did the operation...

My Triton, with no backlight

Main board of the Triton - I am very pleased with the build quality of this synth

Here we can see the Power for the backlight (The white and pink cables), The data (flat cable) and the Touch cable (to the left)

The display is out and ready for surgery

It was easy to remove the cover for the backlight. It is the long round "stick" in the bottom

The old bulp connected and I'm planning this very careful - trying to do exactly as Korg has done...

And thenm it has been replaced... Old one benneth the new and now connected bulp. Now all I need to do is put the whole thing back together.

My backlight is back! :o)

Everything is working again...
